Now Showing in Conwy

‘Coast’ & ‘The Male of the Species’

Contrasting views of the coast and some of its wildlife are on display at Conwy Camera Club’s shop window gallery at the top of High Street, Conwy, throughout September.

Some of the prints show the natural coastline, or coastal birds such as the Ringed Plover. Others show man-made features such as Llandudno Pier at dawn and a lighthouse. Brenda Roberts’ record of Llanfairfechan promenade, strewn with rocks after a storm this year, is a reminder of how nature interacts with man-made structures along the coast.

‘The Male of the Species’ is the theme for September’s display at the foyer of the Civic Hall, Conwy (after 4 September). Most of the images show men in their leisure time - playing musical instruments, managing a steam engine, sleeping, or smoking and drinking beer. The display isn’t intended as an all-round representation of what men get up to! Also featured is George the peacock, familiar to many visitors to Bodnant Garden, Conwy Valley.

More prints by club members can be seen - and purchased - at Coffi Conwy, near the foot of High Street.
