Capel Curig(Click on title to enlarge)Sylvia Jones January 10, 2010, on a permissive footpath above Capel Curig. For me, the brightness of the snow on the tree and mountains against a blue sky creates pleasing visual impact, in spite of the fact that part of the branch goes out of focus. This photo brings back wonderful memories of several snowy trips we enjoyed, as did the dogs, during the past unusually snowy winter. ≡ Category: Landscape, Sylvia Jones |

Bluebells at Loughrigg(Click on title to enlarge)Sylvia Jones This photo makes me catch my breath with remembered joy; in May we spent a week in Great Langdale in the Lake District and enjoyed an evening walk on Loughrigg Fell, overlooking Grasmere. While we were there we read that May is the ideal month for photography in the Lake District because last year’s bracken is still colourful even while the new green shoots are growing amongst the beaten down old stalks. By June everything is green until the Autumn colours take over. The mingled green and coppery shades certainly enhanced our pleasure in the hills. ≡ Category: Landscape, Sylvia Jones |
