Steam at Penmaenmawr(Click on title to enlarge)Gwyn Roberts, 1966 A steam loco collecting stone from Penmaenmawr was an everyday scene 1966, when Gwyn Roberts took this photo. Soon afterwards, diesels took over and by now the A55 Expressway runs between the railway and the seafront. ≡ Category: The Archive |

Nick Francis(Click on title to enlarge)Nick Francis I am a Dental Surgeon and have been keen on photography for as long as I can recall. Years ago and before we had children I had a permanent darkroom at home in which I used to develop and process black and white and also colour “Cibachrome” images. This room became a nursery and by the time I came back to photography as a hobby we had all gone digital! Although I never stopped taking photographs when the kids were young I would have to admit that the majority of the pictures I took at that time were probably little more than family snaps! Digital photography and computer photo manipulation has opened up a whole new world of imaging and imagination. I enjoy all types of photography and especially travel, action, landscape and portraiture. I also like to explore the various effects available to alter and, hopefully enhance imaging with computer software. My wife and I were fortunate to join Conwy Camera Club in September 2008. It’s a large, active and very friendly club with many extremely talented, knowledgeable and enthusiastic members. I have enjoyed the competitions and hope that I have gained from the (usually) constructive critique offered by the various judges. ≡ Category: Nick Francis |
