This picture was taken on a Camera Club summer outing  to Aber Falls in July 2009. After heavy rain the falls were wonderfully full of water.

I am a retired teacher and took up photography 2008. I am not sure what my style is yet. I like dramatic skies and silhouettes. At the moment I am having problems with getting things as I like them the first time! I have to go back to try my shots again … not easy if you have travelled far.

Most of my images are landscapes so far. I want to try everything - landscapes, portraiture, macro etc. Time is so short. I am still trying to take a good photo of a flower, but haven’t got there yet. I love competing and have been very lucky in my first year at Conwy Camera Club.

I am in the beginners’ group at the Conwy club. I am also a member of the Caernarfon club, which is much smaller. I have had help and advice at Conwy club, especially from Stuart Lawrie, on Photoshop and using the camera.

Ceri Williams

I was born in Rhoscolyn, on the Holy Island, Anglesey.
I have always been drawn to the sea and my photography is inspired by
the dramatic seascape and sunsets I was brought up with.

Having taught in Liverpool for 40 years, my returning home to
Caernarfon has made me appreciate the magic of the enchanting light
and colours of nature.

My first experiences in photography were at a young age, helping my
father develop Monochrome images in our bathroom. My first camera was
a Halina.

Having taught art to primary children I am always attracted to the
patterns and textures in nature, my favourite artistic mediums are
watercolours and pastels, I like to capture these translucent and
pastel effects in my images.
