I have never specialized, I find all subjects a challenge as can be seen from the attached photographs. I do find it very interesting how the changing lighting conditions effect very ordinary scenes, hence a large number of after dark shots that feature in my collection. In recent years I’ve developed an interest in railway history and probably the majority of my work now revolves around steam locos and railway structures. I still like to taking mono images but can’t quite reproduce the same quality from an inkjet printer as I used to from the old wet process. For all the years in photography Conwy club is only the second club I have been a member of, and in the short time I’ve been here I have learned a lot of valuable knowledge particularly on the digital post production side. I acquired my first serious camera in1953. It was a basic model with no aids ,focus and exposure being all manual. I had not a clue how to drive it but found it a great learning curve, it taught me the basics of photography which still stand me in good stead today. As with most camera addicts I have graduated on to the latest state of the art all singing all dancing digital SLRs, but still find my early photographic experiences invaluable.
